You Need A Website But You Can’t Afford A Web Designer?

Give me an hour a day for the next week and I’ll show you how to build a beautiful website!

You want to be seen as an expert, to attract new clients, and to seriously grow your business.

You want to live life on your own terms, prove to yourself and others that you can indeed run your own biz, and not have to worry about money ever again.

You would love to have a website that looks professional, makes a stunning first impression on your ideal clients and reflects the high quality services you offer.

But more than anything else, you just want to do the work you love!

After having successfully helped numerous non-tech entrepreneurs to set up their website from scratch, I know that:

You prefer to focus on the things you love to do in your business, and dealing with techie things is certainly not one of them!

You’re afraid people may perceive you as unprofessional or that you’re missing out on clients if you don’t have a good looking website.

You don’t have money to hire a web designer, so you searched in Google like crazy to find that one good piece of information about how to make a website yourself.

You spend hours and hours watching YouTube videos and reading online instructions, but you still have no idea where to start.

You are willing to learn, but you are worried that you’re just not capable of doing it.

Sounds like you? You’ve just found yourself a solution!

This is what I did:

When I started out as an entrepreneur I didn’t have have lots of money (because I didn’t have many clients yet) and I had some time available to work on my business (same reason). So why not build my website myself?

That’s exactly what I did when I started my business 5 years ago. I hopped onto Google, learnt how to make my own website and asked a friend to set up the domain name and webhosting for me (I had no idea how to do that at the time).

It was tough though. There is so much information out there! Which instructions to follow? Many of the instructions were still way too technical for me at the time. So frustrating! Why can’t someone just explain these things in plain language?!

It took time, but I managed. I made my own website.

Was it the best and most pretty looking website out there? No way! But it didn’t need to be. It was functional – and that was enough.

If you want to grow your business, you need more clients. And to get more clients, you need a website. It’s that simple.

Not having a website will make you look very unprofessional and makes it really hard to become seen as the expert that you are. If you don’t get more clients, you won’t have enough income to continue to run your business and that would mean back to a regular day job.

I am Welmoed Verhagen and I teach non-tech entrepreneurs like you how to set up their own website from scratch.

And… I’m learning how to play Roller Derby 🙂

Did you…

  • Ask a willing friend to help you out – only to find they’re simply too busy living their own lives?
  • Once try to build a website – ending up banging your head against a brick wall due to all the different options out there?

This is just not your zone of genius. And that’s ok – it really is!

This is what you need:

  • Someone to hold your hand, to show you simple to follow step-by-step instructions and to be there for you when you have any questions.
  • Someone that makes sure you’re not left behind, someone that makes sure you will succeed, no matter what.

Because only then, with clear instructions, support and encouragement will you be able to get your beautiful website up-and-running. And that’s what will bring you clients, money and the life of freedom that you want.

… living life on your own terms without having to worry about money.

Introducing Website in a Week, a step-by-step online training to set up a website from scratch, for non-tech entrepreneurs who want to attract new clients, to seriously grow their business and to live the life of their dreams.

Here’s what is included in Website in a Week:

  • I will tell you EXACTLY what you need to do and why.
  • The daily highly detailed action steps will help you focus and move forward without ending up confused.
  • The first lesson will reach your inbox directly after you sign up, so you can get started straight away!

Day 1 – Setting up your website

I’ve got you covered! This will be the most challenging day of all seven days, but with my step-by-step instructions you will be able to do it! I will show you exactly how to register for webhosting and a domain name and how to install WordPress.

Day 2 – Making it easier to work on your website

Knowing that you are not a big fan of technology, today we are going to install an easy-to-use WordPress theme. A theme provides the basic outlook of your website and makes it easier for you to add content later on. I will tell you exactly what theme to use, how to install it and how to use it. Having a good theme also helps to make your site look pretty and pretty websites attract your ideal clients!

Day 3 – Creating the structure of your website

Today we will be creating the four basic pages of your website, so you can showcase your expertise and services so that people can get in touch with you. You will create a Homepage, a Work With Me page, an About Me page and a Contact Page. We will also work on the content of your Contact Me page (let those client calls start coming in!) and we’ll create the main menu for your website.

Day 4 to 6 – Adding content to your pages

These days you will be adding content to your Work With Me page, your About Me page and – last but not least – your Homepage.

Day 7 – Adding your logo (if you have one) and links to social media

Do you have a logo for your business? On this day I will explain how to add your own logo to your website. If you’re active on social media like Twitter and Facebook, today you will be adding the links from your accounts to your website.

The course contains 3 bonuses:

1. Instructions on how to include videos on your own website

2. Instructions on how to create great images for your site using Canva

3. How to set up a blog on your site

I’m Welmoed Verhagen, creator of the Website in a Week Course. Having two Master’s Degrees and being self-taught in many different topics, it’s fair to say I love learning new things!

What I love even more though is taking that information, restructuring it and presenting it to people in a more understandable way. It’s my mission to make complex information available and understandable to all.

Investment:

I’ve designed this course so you can get access to all the step-by-step instructions, support and encouragement you need to build your own website from scratch.

Website in a Week costs just $247.

This course is right for you if:

  • You’re willing to learn.
  • You’re ready to invest one hour of work per day for a week.
  • You’re not afraid to try – you will be challenged this week to do things that are new to you. I’m here to support you, but you will need to do the work yourself.
  • You’re willing to ask for help and accept support.

This course is not right for you if:

  • You prefer someone to build a website for you.
  • If you want a super fancy website – this course helps you create a good looking basic professional website.
  • If you’d rather spend hours looking up information on the Internet on how to build a site.
  • You already know how to build a website.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Are there any extra costs involved?

The only extra costs are $3.95/month for web hosting and your domain name. I will explain in great detail how to sign up for these, so don’t worry about the technicalities here. You’ll need to register these to your own name, that’s why they’re not included in the course.

You will receive a complimentary copy of a paid WordPress theme. If you would like to be able to update your theme – which is important for the security of your website – you can buy your own license at $69/year (or $249 once). Just know that you can start this course without the license. All the step-by-step instructions on how to buy and install the theme are included in the course.

Will my website be online straight away? Or can I work on it ‘behind the scenes’ before launching it?

I will show you how to add a ‘Coming Soon’ page to your website so you can work on it behind the scenes. However: I myself work without it most of the time. I set up the basics, and I improve my sites over time. This helps get me and my business out there, and prevents me from ‘hiding’ behind an unfinished website (or: what I think is unfinished, but is actually perfectly fine as a basis). You will probably never feel you’re website is perfect or ‘done’. I encourage you to just get it out there, and move on from there!

Let’s make your website a reality!

I am REALLY not techie, are you sure I can do this?

I specifically created this course for non-tech people like you: everything is explained in great detail and in plain, non-tech language, no steps are left out, and if you follow the instructions you’re website will be up and running in a week!

I am not sure I can spend one hour a day on this for the next week, I have kids, I need to walk the dog…

I strongly recommend you set aside one hour a day for the next 7 days to get that website up and running. Your business needs it! However, if you really can’t find the time now: don’t worry, you’ll have access tot the content for 6 months, so you can always come back to it later.

Can I ask you questions if I don’t understand something?

Of course you can! You’re probably taking this course because you don’t feel particularly techie (or not at techie at all) and support, encouragement and some handholding are crucial to your success. Therefore you can always reach out to me in the private Facebook group I created for this course.

Why do you work with WordPress instead of SquareSpace/Weebly/Wix? I heard those are a lot easier to work with?

Good question! Why wouldn’t you go with one of those if they’re so easy to learn? In the long run you’ll really benefit from having chosen WordPress. You’ll soon run into limitations if you’re working with SquareSpace/Weebly/Wix, and you wouldn’t want to have to start all over again then, right? If you’re serious about growing your business, WordPress is the way to go!
